The intention of the podcast
I decided to start up this podcast as since becoming a single parent a couple of years ago, I'm always wondering how best to support myself and my son through the journey. My mindfulness practice benefits my son and I so much, I don't know what I would do without it!
There are also lots of things that I would like to know more about in terms of child development and the psychology and physiology of trauma, I'd love to hear inspiring stories from other single parents about how they have flourished. So I thought I'd go out and find experts to talk to, so I can parent with more awareness and help others on the journey too.
I also have found from my experience and from talking to other single parents that feelings of loneliness are common. So I came up with the idea of starting a mindfulness course for single parents.
Initially this is an 8 week course for people to learn more about how to cultivate mindfulness and compassion to support themselves through single parenting and then I would like to start a regular group catch up which would involve a practice together and a check in to see how we are all getting on with incorporating mindfulness into our daily lives.
If you would like to be part of Single Parenting - Staying Sane online course and community please contact me and I can let you know when the next course is running.
The cost would be £85 for the full 8 week online course. Concessions are available for those on low income.
